Our Client, located in Erie, PA, has a long-term contract opportunity for an experienced Platform Design Engineer. This is great opportunity to get your foot in the door and gain valuable with an industry leader in Rail/Locomotive products. The client will consider candidates that will temporarily relocate to Erie, PA for one year. Per Diem is provided.Job Description: Responsibilities to include development of concept design, detailed design, and design analysis for product platform fabrication, structure, and packaging. Ownership of stated technical/safety/cost/reliability/performance requirements for platform fabrication, structure, and packaging design. Interactions will include engineering sub-system teams; systems engineering; and drafting team in Erie, PA and global sites. Complete design work and design analysis as required to meet design goals Write drawing change orders and interface with drafting team for layouts, detail design, drawings and change implementation. Review and approve designs developed by designers & 2-D detailed drawings completed by drafting. Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles. Strong interpersonal skills, good written and oral communication skills. Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
